A Little bit about me . . .
I was born and raised in Barrio Sherman in San Diego, CA. I am ecstatic to be a future educator because I want to give back directly to my communities here in San Diego. I have seen firsthand the impact an educator can make on a community and I want to do the same. Growing up I was surrounded by teachers more than your average kid. I come from a family of educators who have stressed the importance of education and helping your community. One person who has made a huge impact on me is my mother. I aspire to be like her because she has dedicated her life to both her classroom and community, showing the positive influence a passionate teacher can have. She taught me that teaching and learning is not restricted to the classroom but rather submerges the entire community thus educating our youth is collaborative process. Children in elementary school are vulnerable to influence, the impact a teacher has on the educational perspective of a child should not be taken lightly. I understand this influence through my childhood experiences and volunteer opportunities, both playing pivotal roles in my decision to become an educator and be that positive driving force in a child’s life.
